According to the data, 2020 was the worst year for only seven states; 2011 was the worst for 17 states.
This illustrates that wildfire isn’t just a West Coast issue. It never was. Oklahoma ranks in the top five worst states for wildfire and lost 2.8 million acres to wildfire in 2011.
